At World of Discovery Day Camp, summertime is a season for children to expand their horizons, explore new territories, and discover new and exciting things about themselves.
Whether the children are enrolled in the Discovery Sports Academy or the Discovery Day Camp, they build new skills, discover new things, make new friends, and realize a new found confidence.
Through our structured programming, campers are encouraged to participate and excel in those activities that interest them the most. Both group and individual instruction is offered, and children are generally grouped according to age. Positive reinforcement and encouragement are the cornerstones of all Discovery programming.
We maintain a high ratio of counselors to campers. Moreover, we are very selective about our staff. To qualify for a World of Discovery position, counselors must meet stringent standards and qualifications. Above all, they must demonstrate a total commitment and caring for children. We know we have selected the best staff when they continue to return year after year.
Our Head Counselors and Directors are experienced, New York State Certified teachers and are trained in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and Responding to Emergency (RTE) measures.
