    TEEN CAMP

The CPI Minor Program, focused on Spanish language study, accepts teens aged 14 – 17 years from all countries, year-round.  Teenagers quickly learn in the relaxed environment through small classes, complemented by personalized attention from our bilingual staff. Young students truly enjoy the exciting opportunity to live with a Costa Rican family and experience the tropical wonders of Costa Rica.

Teenagers may study the intensive course (4 hours a day Spanish classes) or the super intensive course (5.5 hours a day Spanish classes) in our 3 options in Costa Rica: The beach (Flamingo beach), the mountains (Monteverde Cloud Forest) and in a typical town (San Joaquín de Flores). They may choose one location or combine different locations.

CPI can provide a certificate indicating the amount of hours of Spanish studied and the level that was attained. This certificate may be presented to the high school or it may be useful for university applications. The teens may be joined or not to Costa Rica by their parents; because the Spanish program is offered to all the ages. There are accommodations available for families traveling together.

There are excursions available after the classes and during the weekends, besides the free activities, for example dance class, cooking class, movie night, etc.
Teenagers also have the opportunity to earn undergraduate language credit from Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas. This institution is accredited by SACS, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Multinational Academic Program (MAP) for Study Abroad is designed to provide academic credits for systematic language study abroad.

    SOCCER CAMP

Soccer Camp offers you the chance to play soccer, learn Spanish and to see beautiful Costa Rica, in a friendly, lively environment. During the two-week program, students will train three mornings per week with a professional Costa Rican soccer coach. The camp focuses on improving players soccer skills in a fun but challenging environment. In the evenings players will challenge local teams. Players will witness how their skills have improved by playing against a true Costa Rican team! Other activities include to visit stadiums and to watch professional soccer games.

The Spanish immersion aspect of Soccer Camp includes 40 hours of intensive Spanish classes during the afternoons. The maximum class size is five students. The primary goal is that students develop confidence in speaking Spanish. For this reason, student participation in class is strongly encouraged. The students also learn soccer vocabulary.
