  • Academic and Pre-College Camps: Medicine
  • Description:

The University of Toronto’s Youth Summer Programs offered in the month of July are designed for high school students who are contemplating a career in either the medical sciences or the legal field. The Programs are offered by two of the University of Toronto’s most renowned faculties: the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Law. Each program offers unrivalled academic programming combined with access to leading professors and world class facilities.

The Faculty of Medicine's Youth Summer Program offers high school students an exclusive glimpse into the world of medicine and medical research at the University of Toronto. The Program's unparalleled access to the University of Toronto's medical faculty and research facilities allows participants to experience what it is like to be a student at Canada's premier medical school.

The Program offers four unique one-week modules, each one introducing a major medical discipline. Please visit our website for a detailed description of all four modules and weeks. Each module offers lectures from world-class faculty and hands-on experimentation in cutting-edge research laboratories guided by distinguished medical researchers. In addition to the core academic content, career seminars help students to make informed decisions in the field of medicine, health sciences and medical research and provide guidance regarding the admissions process for both the University of Toronto and the Faculty of Medicine.

The Faculty of Law's Youth Summer Program

offers high school students the opportunity to spend one, two, or three weeks at the Faculty of Law discussing advanced legal concepts, learning about the reality of the Canadian legal system, and applying their knowledge in a variety of stimulating environments.  The Law YSP’s dynamic, hands-on curriculum includes:

interactive classroom workshops and special presentations given by energetic law students, distinguished law professors and top practicing lawyers

trips to some of Canada’s most prestigious law firms and visits to see the courts in action

challenging mock trials, debates, and other realistic simulated legal proceedings

In addition to the academic content, students get a taste of university residence life while staying at New College and participating in evening activities that showcase the city of Toronto.
