Description:
Rein Community Service offers unique community service opportunities within the United States. We feel that there are many needs in our own country that should be addressed. Our participants volunteer in different capacities: working with children from underserved communities, working at animal shelters, improving the natural environment, and working at local Foodbanks.
Our participants are housed in dormitories on college campuses in order to get a taste of college living. At our Project Indiana at Indiana University and Project California at the University of California in Santa Barbara, we perform our community service for 4 hours each morning. Both programs offer exciting opportunities along with community service, as each participant chooses an afternoon elective. Options include golf lessons, tennis instruction, surfing instruction, cooking instruction, yoga, guitar lessons, SAT Prep, and digital photography. At our Project Hawaii at the University of Hawaii in Hilo, our volunteers work during the day and take advantage of the facilities on campus in the afternoon. Evenings are full of enriching cultural activities.
On each program, weekends are reserved for travel to exciting locations. Project Indiana spends an incredible weekend in Chicago and visits several Big 10 universities and Cedar Point Amusement Park. Project California participants experience sand dune rides on the California coast, a beautiful Palm Springs resort, and a fun weekend in Los Angeles. Project Hawaii takes full advantage of the Hawaiian islands and travels to other Maui and Oahu, staying at beautiful hotels and doing fabulous activities such as surfing lessons and snorkeling.
