  • Description:

    The Camp Mission is to Educate your Teenager in Wildlife Conservation by:

    Expanding their Knowledge in Gun Safety and Gun Care

    Learning practical Camping, Hunting and Survival Skills

    Enjoying the outdoors and the Wildlife

    Discovering the World of Hunting by each of them harvesting one trophy.

    Becoming a Hunter by obtaining a Hunter Certification (Hunting License).

     

    These goals are achieved in a control environment, on our 10,000 acres Estate, under the supervision of Certified Professionals and with the participation of Counselors to follow each Group of Teenagers.

    Each Camp has a maximum of 12 Teenagers separated within the three Ranch Guest Houses, one being solely reserved for the Girls with a Girl Counselor.

    Arrival and Departure Point by Road is Indianhead Ranch and by Air: Del Rio International Airport via Houston, On Continental Airlines.

     

    CAMP TYPES:

    #1 Coed Camps over 1 Week (Sunday-Saturday)

     Apprentice Camp:

    For Teenagers between 12 – 17 years of Age. The 7 Day Camp focuses on the Hunter Safety Certification (Hunting License) and includes a hunt for One Management Exotic Doe.

    Advance Camp:

    For Teenagers between 12 and 17 years of Age. The 7 Day Camp focuses mostly on Hunting and Conservation, includes a hunt for One Non-Trophy Exotic and ATV (4 Wheelers) Certification. The NON-TROPHY can be UPGRADED to a MANAGEMENT or an EXOTIC TROPHY.

    #2 Coed Camps over 2 Weeks (Sunday-Saturday)

    For Teenagers between 12 – 17 years of Age who want to stay over two weeks they will combine one Week Apprentice and one Week Advance Camps.

    APPRENTICE CAMP SCHEDULE:

     

    Each Student will participate in the following activities:

    Texas Hunter Safety Certification - African Animal Identification - Binocular Usage - Archery Safety and Marksmanship - Firearm Safety and Marksmanship - GPS and Map Reading - Shooting Clays - Introduction to Taxidermy - Wildlife Conservation - Animal and Land Management - Sensory Safari - Gun Care and Cleaning - Nightly Campfires and Sharing Time – Pictographs - Record Books / SCI Trophy Scoring Systems - Field Dressing and Skinning Game - Appreciation of our Hunting Heritage - LaserShot Shooting Simulator - Stalking Techniques - Over Night Camping Experience - Opportunity to Harvest one management Doe.

    Each Student will participate in the following activities:

    African Animal Identification - Binocular Usage - Compass Usage - Firearm Safety Marksmanship - Shooting Clays - Introduction to Taxidermy - Animal and Land Management - Gun Care and Cleaning - Nightly Campfires and Sharing Time - Trophy Scoring Systems - Field Dressing and Skinning Game - Appreciation of our Hunting Heritage - LaserShot Shooting Simulator - Stalking Techniques – Trapping - Overnight Camping Experience - All Terrain Vehicle (ATC) Certification Course - Opportunity to harvest one management exotic TROPHY.
