  • Description:

PanimWorks: DC JAM, on the campus of The George Washington University, is a leadership training program for teens passionate about politics, community service, activism, and Judaism. You will meet experts, participate in hands-on service projects and develop skills to pioneer change and impact the issues you care about. Two 2-week sessions or a four week session (including a bonus opportunity of a placement in a DC agency) will be offered for students currently in grades 10-12.

PanimWorks: DC JAM will affect the way you think about the world…Judaism…and yourself! Here's what some of our past participants had to say:

“I have become inspired to fight for change and to fight for what I believe in. DC JAM helped me find my voice and the activist inside me.”
    - Willoughby Smith, West Tisdale, MA

“DC JAM is the best program I have ever done. I feel more in touch with my Jewish identity and ready to go start campus life. This program has made me more aware of social/economic/political problems that I know I can help solve.”
    - Ben Michaels, Niskayuna, NY

“DC JAM has changed me from the person that I was to the person I will be for the rest of my life.”
    - Marissa Cooper, Orange, OH

"DC JAM made me realize how I can make a difference by getting involved in community service work. It opened up my eyes to the inequalities in the world and how people are trying to change them and how I can help. I also made me see how Judaism looked at such current issues and approached them, what advice it gave so I could come to my own conclusion about how I felt about the issue."
     - Emily Gardner, Los Alamos, NM

"PanimWorks: DC JAM was such a great experience for me. I loved the program more than any other summer experience. It taught me that Jews can’t just sit back and watch the world go by. We have to work at fixing it."
    - Dayne Seiden, Short Hills, NJ
