  • Description:

At the Speed Training Institute, our speed training programs are for serious athletes and are designed to give athletes ages 10-18 that extra edge in speed.

Our Speed ProgramTM was developed by Brahim Chhab, a world-class runner in the
400 and 800 meters with the famous Moroccan track and field team. Running the 800 meters in one minute 46 seconds, he was an alternate for the Los Angeles Olympics. Brahim has a Masters in sports coaching from the University of Montpellier and has studied and worked at the National Institute of Sports in Morocco. He has studied under Aziz Daouda, the world’s premier track coach, who has coached five athletes who have broken world records ten times. Chhab also holds soccer coaching licenses from Brazil, France and the U.S.

Brahim developed a Speed Program for the Men’s Soccer team at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the summer of 2003 and the results were remarkable!

Nowadays speed is becoming increasingly more important in amateur and professional sports. All our programs contain the elements from our SPEED PROGRAM. While we believe high school athletes are of the best age for speed

development, we also run programs for middle school and younger aged athletes.

We offer four types of Speed Training programs:

    1. Summer Speed Camps: Camps are held throughout the summer from mid June to Labor Day. Each camp runs for one week, Monday-Friday, for two hours per day. Camp locations vary from week to week in the Morris, Somerset and Union County area. Week long camps held in spring during school breaks or after school at the start of the spring sports season. Camps run two hours per day.

    1. Fall, Winter & Spring Speed Training Classes: Seasonal programs are held for athletes ages 10 - High School and the schedule may vary from season to season. Age groups usually include:  Ages 10-14, Ages 12-High School, and High School. Please check our Speed Training Schedule page for updated schedules.

    1. Team Speed Program:  We run programs for top-level clubs on a limited basis. Brahim Chhab visits the club and runs a camp, seminar or working training session. Club administrators or coaches can contact us to arrange details and check availability.

    1. Personalized Year Round Speed Training Program:  Athletes are tested then sign up for 10 or 20 sessions, booking times that suit their schedule. We use an indoor facility at Fairleigh Dickinson University and outdoor facilities in Warren. Call 908-766-6628 to book your testing session or to get more information.

Sessions: Our Speed Programs are held year-round. Please check our website for updated schedules and program information.
